i felt so great today. i think i finally caught up on sleep or something hahaha. being with these kids makes me so happy. i wish i had more love to give them!
school went well...a couple minor hiccups with the kids down below so unfortunately they didn't get a sticker as they left school today. they were quite upset....but they have to learn somehow that there are consequences to their behavior!
one of my favorite parts of the day - during recess 2 of the younger boys were reading intently. i was pretty sure they didn't know it was recess time because they're always begging to play with the toys, but when i told them they just kept on reading. they were choosing to read! for fun! this is what i call a victory hahahaha
i went to the movie theater tonight to meet adriana, and while i was waiting for her, i walked through the two story mall that the theater is part of. born in the u.s.a. was playing, quite loudly, i might add. nothing like walking through a mexican mall listening to springsteen! (it made me miss you dad!)
i found yogurtland - mexican style! (but with american prices) i'm glad it's a half hour micro ride away, because otherwise that could be super dangerous. by looking at what other people were eating, it was clear that the most popular toppings were prunes and slabs of coconut. mmm.
rocio, paco, and i are going to buy her beauty school supplies tomorrow. she starts school on monday. i asked her if she would cut my hair in a month or so. it's just hair, right? just kidding! i have faith in her. really.
good news - most of the sick kids (so, everyone) are bouncing back. it looked and sounded like a hospital wing for a couple days - nasty coughs, runny noses, feverish bodies laying around...but things are looking up, gracias a Dios!
