here are some pictures from the last week or so.

preschool went really well today, thank goodness!
we worked at the table today for about 20 minutes, and then the kids played on the floor for about ten minutes. we all sat in chairs and sang a few songs, and then went for a ride in the wagon!
it was good to have that structure - they certainly had some choices, but weren't running the show. i have lately been feeling really overwhelmed with the preschool - i feel like my knowledge is with kids who already can or are having trouble reading. we're working on colors, numbers, and basic things like that with the preschool! the structure of today was really good.

chuy is doing really well. he and i have been talking more, building our relationship professionally as well as personally. he has really made a point to encourage the kids more when they do something well. i know that's not his personality or culture, and to see that from him is so great. the kids love it, too.

i just love the kids here so much. it's like i always have friends - whether i want that friend to be a crazy 17 year old in love with his bicycle, someone who rolls around all day long yelling like tarzan, or girls who have a whole world behind their eyes....i get to be friends with them.
